Capacity Building of Submarines:

  • The Defence Ministry has signed two MoUs worth Rs 2,867 crore with Indian and French companies.
  • The agreements are aimed at improving the survivability of submarines and their ability to destroy enemy warships.
  • The contract is for the integration of Electronic Heavy Torpedo Bombs on board the Indian Navy’s Kalvari submarine.

  • The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has successfully launched the Explosive Satellite Exploration Satellite (EXPOSAT). It is the first dedicated satellite for scientific research in the country.

India’s new record in space research

  • The launch of PSLV C-60 with Spadex twin launchers was a successful attempt to send humans into space.
  • The launch took place from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.
  • The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has decided to set up an Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) by 2035.
  • The first stage of the project will be launched in 2028.
  • For this purpose, ISRO has designed two spacecraft, SPADEX A and SPADEX B, with private participation.
  • Both the satellites weigh 220 kg each.
