Prime Minister’s’ Intenship ‘Scheme:
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Pradhan Mantri Rozgar Yojana to provide employment opportunities to the unemployed youth of India.
- The scheme was launched on October 3, 2024.
- The scheme was announced in the Union Budget 2024-25.
- In the next five years, it aims to provide 10 million youth with 12-month employment opportunities with the top 500 companies in the country.
- Under this scheme, 1 crore youth will get the opportunity to work in the top 500 companies of the country in 5 years.
- In October last year, as a pilot project, 1.27 lakh youth were given the opportunity to gain company work experience.
- In a notification issued on Sunday, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs said that 1.27 lakh people have been provided opportunities under the Pradhan Mantri Enterprise Experience Programme (EPE) as a pilot project in the current financial year.
- The beneficiaries will be given a monthly stipend of Rs 5,000 for 12 months. A reward of Rs 6,000 has also been announced.
Big dam on Siang river: Siang Project
- Beijing: China has decided to build the world’s largest dam across the Brahmaputra river in Tibet at a cost of over 1 trillion yuan.
- The dam is to be built on the Brahmaputra river, which flows through a large valley in the Himalayas, into Arunachal Pradesh and then into Bangladesh.
- China controls the flow of the river. The height and capacity of the dam will also allow China to release large amounts of water in emergency situations.
- The 11,000 MW project will be set up on the Siang river in Upper Siang and Siang districts of Arunachal Pradesh.
- A huge dam is being built across the river.

Waves Conference in India:
- The first-ever ‘World Sound and Light Entertainment (WAVES) Conference’ in India will be held in Delhi from February 5 to 9, 2025.
- This is similar to conferences held by international organizations such as the World Economic Partnership.

Innovation Extension Programme:
