‘Make in India’ initiative:
- Russian President Vladimir Putin has praised the ‘Make in India’ initiative, which aims to boost manufacturing and attract foreign investment, and said it is playing a key role in strengthening India’s position in the global economy.
- The ‘Make in India’ initiative is playing a key role in strengthening India’s position in the global economy. India has created ‘stable environments’ for small and medium enterprises.
- The Make in India initiative was launched on September 25, 2014.
- It was inaugurated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
- It was launched during the 12th Five Year Plan in India.

PSLV C-59 launched:
- To study the outer space of the Sun, India’s PSLV C-59 took off from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh, along with twin satellites called Proba-3.
- Foreign satellites are being launched commercially through the ‘Newspace India Limited’, a part of the Indian Space Research Organization.
- In that regard, a contract was signed to launch the twin satellite called Proba-3, designed by the European Space Agency, into space using India’s PSLV rocket.
- The two satellites of the ESA company called ‘Proba-3’ will be placed in an orbit 60,500 km from Earth using the PSLV C-59 rocket. The outer space rays of the Sun will be studied by placing them in an orbit at a distance of 60,500 km.
Civil Aviation Bill:
- The new Civil Aviation Bill (Bharatiya Vayuyan Vidheyak) to replace the 90-year-old Civil Aviation Act was passed in Parliament.
- The Bill will come into force after the President’s assent.
- The Civil Aviation Act, 1934, has been amended 21 times so far.
- This new bill has been passed to remove the shortcomings in it, attract investments in the civil aviation sector and promote ease of doing business.
- The ‘UDAN’ scheme was launched to make air services available to everyone.
- It has become necessary to establish domestic airports to provide air services to more passengers.
- In the last 8 years, the UDAN scheme has been implemented on 609 routes.
Anna Chakra Scheme: Award for Tamil Nadu
- 12 states that have successfully implemented the Anna Chakra scheme in improving the food public distribution chain have saved Rs. 130 crore.
- Of this, Tamil Nadu has saved Rs. 29 lakhs were saved and 12 states including Tamil Nadu were awarded by the Union Minister of Consumer Affairs and Food Public Distribution, Pralhad Joshi.
- The Central Government has introduced the ‘Anna Chakra’ system to improve the efficiency of the public supply chain for fair price shops.
- The ‘Anna Chakra’ scheme is to reduce the transportation costs of food items provided under the Public Distribution Scheme of the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan.
- The Anna Chakra scheme was jointly developed by the UN World Food Programme, the Institute for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT), and IIT Delhi.
