One Nation One Subscription Scheme:
- The Union Cabinet has approved the ‘One Nation One Subscription’ scheme, ‘National Organic Farming Mission’, the scheme to set up ‘Two Hydropower Plants’ in Arunachal Pradesh and the extension of ‘Atal Innovation Mission’.
- A new scheme called ‘One Nation One Subscription’ is being introduced to further expand the objectives of various initiatives taken in the education sector in the last decade and to make it accessible to the people.
- This will ensure that quality higher education is provided to the youth.
- This scheme has been launched in support of the initiatives of the Anusandhan National Research Institute, which was started to promote research in universities, colleges, laboratories, etc. as per the recommendations of the New Education Policy to achieve the goal of a developed India.
- Under this scheme, a fund of Rs. 6,000 crore has been allocated to adopt a uniform subscription system across the country to access research articles and journals.
- The scheme will be implemented for three years, 2025, 2026 and 2027.
- The scheme will be implemented in all higher education institutions across the country, including central and state governments, autonomous colleges operating under the University Grants Commission (UGC).
Organic Farming Mission:
- The National Organic Farming Mission will be launched to promote organic farming in an area of 5 lakh hectares across the country and benefit 1 crore farmers.
- A budget of Rs. 2,481 crore has been allocated for this scheme.
- The scheme will be introduced with the aim of promoting organic farming and improving the health of the people and the quality of the soil by producing chemical-free food.
- The central government plans to select panchayats willing to join this scheme and develop 15,000 agricultural groups and set up 10,000 natural input resource centres as per the requirement.
- Along with distributing the natural resources of these centres, capital assistance of up to Rs. 1 lakh will be provided.
- Successful organic farming trials were conducted in 2019-20 and 2022-23.
- Currently, organic farming is practiced on 10 lakh hectares of land across the country.
‘Atal Innovation Mission 2.0’:
- ‘Atal Innovation Mission 2.0’ was launched by NITI Aayog to strengthen the innovation and entrepreneurship environment in India.
- This scheme has been extended till March 31, 2028 and a fund of Rs. 2,750 crore has been allocated.
- India is ranked 39th in the Global Innovation Index.
- At the same time, this scheme is being extended with the aim of further developing the third largest innovation industry in the world.
- Special project models will also be developed under AIM to help the development of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and the North-Eastern states.
‘PAN 2.0’ Project:
- ‘The Income Tax Department has allocated Rs. 1,435 crore for the ‘PAN 2.0’ scheme.
- The Cabinet has approved the launch of this scheme with an objective of technologically simplifying the registration services of taxpayers in a qualitative manner.
- It is an improved version of the core services provided under the existing PAN/DAAN 1.0 schemes and other services.
- 78 crore PAN cards have been issued across the country till date.
