Right to Information Act:
- According to the Freedom of Information Act RTI, 47,000 complaints have been registered with the National Registration Commission since 2020.
- Uttar Pradesh tops the list of states with the highest number of complaints.
- The Act was passed by the Parliament of India on 12 May 2005.
- The Right to Information Act received presidential assent on 15 June 2005.
- The Right to Information Act came into force on 12 October 2005.
- The basic objective of the Right to Information Act is to empower citizens, promote transparency and accountability in the working of government, curb corruption and make our democracy truly work for the people.
- The Act is well suited to keep the necessary vigilance in the instruments of administration and to make the government more accountable to the governed.
- This act is a big step to inform the citizens about the activities of the government.
- Public Information Officer (PIO) and Appellate Authority have been appointed for obtaining information by citizens.
- In October 2005 it issued proactive disclosures as per the provisions of the Act.
- The Right to Information Act, 2005 is an Act enacted by the Parliament of India to give people the right to know information from the government and government-aided institutions.
National Commission for Scheduled Tribes:
- National Commission for Scheduled Tribes is a constitutional body of India.
- The Commission was established in 2003 by the 89th Amendment to the Constitution of India.
- The system came into force on 19th February 2004.
- The National Commission for Scheduled Tribes is constituted under Article 338A of the Constitution of India.
- It bifurcated the erstwhile National Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes to oversee the implementation of various protections provided to Scheduled Tribes under the Constitution.
- According to this amendment, the National Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, which was earlier set up, was replaced by two separate Commissions.
- The two commissions are National Commission for Scheduled Tribes and National Commission for Scheduled Tribes.
- When the first Commission was set up in 2004, it was chaired by Kunwar Singh, Member of Legislative Assembly from Madhya Pradesh.
‘Gatishakti’ program to help achieve the goal of a developed India:
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that with the help of Gatishakti Programme, the country is gaining momentum to achieve our vision of ‘Developed Wealth’.
- PM Gatishakti scheme was launched on 13th October 2021.
- Pratham Uthvekam National Master Plan was created as a transformative effort to revolutionize the country’s infrastructure.
- It has significantly improved multi-faceted connectivity and enabled rapid and efficient growth in government departments.
- The initiative has led to seamless integration of various stakeholders to increase freight traffic, reduce delays and create new opportunities for many.
- The Prime Minister’s initiative has addressed critical infrastructure gaps with the National Master Plan for Exports, Trade Facilitation and National Freight Transport Policy.
- It plays an important role in reducing freight transport costs and improving the freight transport efficiency of the country.
- India has climbed to 38th in the World Bank’s Freight Transport Performance Index.

- Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit to be held in Pakistan
