Economic Survey:
- Before the Budget, the Economic Survey of the country’s economy is presented every year.
- Accordingly, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the economic report for the financial year 2023-24 in the Lok Sabha.
- India will soon emerge as the world’s third largest economy after the United States and China.
- The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said in a report released last April that the Indian economy will reach 6.8 percent growth in 2024-25.

Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme:
- According to the central government, 15.15 percent of the beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Scheme (Urban) are minorities.
- The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana scheme was launched by the Union Government headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 25 June 2015.
- Under this scheme the homeless people will get the benefit to build or buy a house.
- The essence of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is to improve quality housing for the poor.
- It is the most important program of the central government under the poverty alleviation program of the government.
- The central government started this project with the assurance that it would radically change the living standards of the poor people in the rural areas and build them sturdy houses.
- Under this scheme, subsidy is provided to the beneficiaries for construction of houses.
Brahmaputra Warship:
- A fire broke out on board the Indian Navy ship Brahmaputra on July 21 while undergoing refit work.
- INS Brahmaputra is the first indigenously developed warship.
- Inducted into the Indian Navy in April 2000.
- The vessel weighs 5,300 tonnes, is 125 meters long and 14.4 meters wide and can travel at a speed of 27 knots at sea.

- Indian Oil, India’s leading petroleum products company, has launched a fuel specially formulated for racing cars.
- The company launched the special fuel for racing cars at the Madras Motors Sports Club in Chennai.
- Named Storm X, this fuel is specially formulated for racing cars with high octane.
- Indian Oil has entered into an agreement with MMSC to revolutionize the auto racing industry in India.
Instant Approval for Home Construction Online: Self Certification Scheme
- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin launched the project of immediate online approval for the residential construction of 3,500 square feet under the self-certification scheme.
- Accordingly, building permission can be easily and immediately obtained under the self-certification scheme for a residential building with a ground floor, first floor and a height of seven meters within a building area of 3,500 square feet.
- The self-certification scheme has been introduced with maximum transparency and simplification of existing building rules, eliminating the time spent by the public visiting offices for building permits.
